It's easy to connect your PIC40 kit to this good quality 2 line x 8 character backlit LCD display, with standard pin outs and a Hitachi type driver.
The backlight requires 4.05V at 60mA (e.g. 5V via a 16 ohm resistor, or 12V via a 220 ohm 1/2 watt resistor) if used.
